language identity crisis

Today I have no choice but to occupy the computer and the couch (mwhahaha) in my agony-filled pains, so you'll have to stick with me writing stuff here aaaaaaaall day long. (Reason for this found in the text below)

My dad thinks I'm going to become Finland's Swedish just because 80% of the books I'm currently reading are in Swedish, because I listen to Radio X3M (Finnish Swedish radio channel) and currently would much rather go to Finland's Swedish theatre. I can give you a valid set of reasons for why I act that way.

1. I'm surrounded by Swedish-speaking people in my school every day.
2. I'm gonna have to learn how to speak Swedish some time.
2.1. Grammar at school won't do the trick.
3. X3M plays better music and has better programs for those of us who don't spend their lives emoing or britneying. (I'm aware those aren't Earth language phrases, deal with it.)
4. Finland's Swedish theatre in my home town is currently better than that of my mother tongue. They've just chosen this season's program better. (Normally, any kind of theatre would do.) PLUS I found a theatre group that matches my style and if they happen to speak Swedish (pardon my French) SFW?!!

My dad doesn't really think I'm crazy, I just used his random comment to point out we are a country with two NATIONAL languages, so I don't see the problem. (But don't hate it on paps, he knows that.)

Now I really gotta stop writing, my little doggie is sleeping on me, trying to get me to pet her instead.

Accident magnet... tvivelfront

This week was not made for me, I can tell you that much. Let me explain some simple rules that keep you alive for a little longer.

#1: Don't try to do a back walkover against the ladders in the gym hall.

Reason: I did the back walkovers just fine at home against the wall, but when I tried to do it at school against the ladder-ish thing that always are around the walls of the gym hall, the ladder hit me!! In the eye! It was swollen and red and sore and it was not funny because I was supposed to go to the theatre with my friend that night. BUT, with some ice, it didn't look too bad. It just hurt. And the play was fantastic, so I wasn't too bummed about it. However, I didn't get a cool black eye, which may sound weird to you guys, but it would've been better than just... pain.

#2: Do not, I repeat, do NOT ride your bike at the same time when talking about your friend's new über-sexy French figure skating head coach.

Reason: We did that, the four of us. We gave him grades according to how sexy we thought he was on a scale from 4 to 10. (My sexometer blew up, couldn't handle it.) I biked next to the friend who got to be in the presence of him for 45 minutes... And the next thing I know, our bikes got stuck together and we fell. My knees hit the ground first, I think, and then the rest of me. Result: my chin has a nasty HUGE scraping in it which hurts all the time. "But you fell on your knees" you wonder. Yes I did. My knee, at this point has a huge square inch-sized wound on it, that hurts even more. AND the sugar on top is that I bashed my knee so hard I can't even walk properly.

The first unfortunate event happened on Thursday, the second one on Friday.

I don't follow danger around, danger follows me.

I attract it.

And onto happier news: Check out the following sites for music that will rock your world. At least they rocked mine:

www.myspace.com/floggingmolly
www.builtbysnow.com
www.ellis-music.com
www.myspace.com/lightsandsoundsmusic
www.myspace.com/tvivelfront

Tell me what you think about them, I need to find some soulmates on this subject. :)

Ready... set... you know what follows

We are officially in business now. Yay! :) First, we have to apologise to everyone who doesn't speak English that well, but because we have some friends abroad (you know who you are, hiii!!) this site will not be running in Finnish. So sorry..
This is a sort of extension to our previous website Sisters-in-arms (www.freewebs.com/sisters-in-arms) so we'll be continuing the crazy-ass ramblings here.
We really hope you enjoy it here, we'll be updating when something happens (or when nothing happens, which is usually when we get in front of the computer anyway) or whatnot.
Thanks for coming and come back for more!
